The glazed prow of the casino on its triangular plot stretches towards the Euralille retail centre, stopping at the very edge of the site along a sweeping boulevard, where the game rooms and restaurants form the building’s transparent base. Overhead, the 9-storey triangular tower of the hotel rises across from the city centre. In the naturally guarded mystery of this world of gambling, the building technique is hidden, only the spectacular is revealed: the sloping roofs, in their organic movement, are held in place by a metallic 54-m-long mega beam that remains completely unseen.
